I am exceedingly humbled today, hence pouring an unreserved encomiums to a woman, and a mother with a God-given aesthetics on the occasion of her Birthday Anniversary today.

In a world where the life-expectancy of man has been wrenched and drenched into the lagoons of uncertainty, there stood one woman in our lives whom God has showered his grace---Mrs. Oduah

In a world where the competitiveness of LEGAL WORLD could even shake the clumsy and drowsy off its comfort zone, you stood and still stand to be the beacon of light, an epitome of hope, and the shoulder for the deprived to lean on.

Words elude me for l do not know how best to express myself the more, but

My prayer is:

May God keep you for us

More years in life

More Grace, and

Success in your endeavors.... Amen.

Today, I join other women globally, especially members of our noble profession across our great country, as we celebrate the International Women’s Day today, the 8th Day of March, 2020.

This year’s celebration with the theme , “I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights”, is striking as it is aimed at bringing together ”people of every gender, age, ethnicity, race, religion and country, to drive actions that will create the gender-equal world we all deserve.”

It is very apt at a time like this, when the world has witnessed a high rise in cases of violence against women, descrimination at places of work, political and religious offices based on gender and sexual and reproductive health abuses.

Our noble association, the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA can be a shining light in galvanizing members to stop the acts of violence against women, work place descrimination, sexual abuse targeted at women and promote the rights of women in our society and association. Together, we can also build a gender equal NBA.

While celebrating the International Women’s Day, I urge us to retain the ideals behind the adoption of this day, twenty five years ago in Beijing, China today and always.

Mrs. Joyce Oduah is success personified. If she won’t fit in, I would’ve said so outrightly.

I can attest to the validity of the fact that during the tenure of Chief Okey Wali, SAN and before me, Joyce introduced the coding of NBA Branches as it stands today when she was the NBA treasurer.

The President could not implement any major project during his tenure without consulting Joyce for her input. It’s important we know this fact and more that will flow in later.

She is indeed a major material for the office of the General Secretary because her innovations when introduced will be seriously appreciated by all. We worked together for two years and I know her worth.

I stand with Joyce.
